As we all know from Gamebattles or just Nintendo's online service (Basic Brawl and such) for matches to be successful there needs to be good communication. The easiest ways are: 1) Allow players to list contact info on their page (in a description or a special field), or 2) Built-in chat. You already have built-in chat, but it's a lot like SBR's, which results in a big mess of people talking at once, and it can get really confusing and hard to talk to your opponent. A HUGE step from that, which Gamebattles is actually working on, is having chat on a match page once it's scheduled. That way, neither player needs instant messaging, they can simply look to the match information/reporting web page and discuss it there. If there's any way to do this, it would give your ladder a big boost over competing sites that lack communication.

Currently on the site we have 4 or 5 ways of communication. The live chat on the site, the live chat on the matches page (yup we got it), the message system, and forums.

I really like how the website has live IM in the match description. Therefore, people who don't have have AIM won't have a problem communicating. But if there was a way to restrict who can see them, that would be nice. Like I can click on anyone else's profile and click on their match descriptions and see their chat. I know some players talk about the match after and discuss each others' strategies.

We might restrict it latter, right now it is just away to help prevent cheating, they chat can also act as feed back. We will incorperate a feed back tool int he future though.

We kind of had something implemented along those lines. Only those participating in the match may use that window to type, with the exception of Admins that will have yellow text (me) or purple text (Chum).
